a flower sugar farmers wife!

I did it, yes I did!!  I finally got back to being a farmers wife!!  It had been far too long and really missed making those cute little blocks!  I just received the new Flower Sugar collection so what better than to make a couple blocks from such lovely new fabric!

I absolutely adore the new Flower Sugar and I love seeing it already in these two blocks!!   It also fits right in with all my other blocks.  :)

{49} Honeycomb {stitched into hexagons}

{1} Attic Windows

I use to hang my other blocks from my tree last year, and enjoyed going back to the same spot for these two.

My growing stack!  I counted and have 40 blocks now. I'm so exited as I only have 10 more to make the lap size.  The end is insight, which feels great!

I hadn't laid them all out for such a long time!   I really think this is going to be my favorite quilt!  It really is a labor of love with all these little blocks.

I have to show you the new Flower Sugar bundles that I just listed last night.  I love each Flower Sugar collection as it comes out but this one is really beyond pretty!!  i LOVE it!!

I also just got in charm packs for the Sweet Shoppe collection.  This is for the full collection and is 40, 5 X 5 inch squares.  I can't wait to make something out it!

So a little sewing and lots of fabric!  A start to a lovely week indeed!  :)

a little sidetracked

I was going to work on some Farmers Wife blocks this week but got a little sidetracked.  Who wouldn't with the Super Penquin Quilt Along going on!?!  :)   I absolutely adore all Ayumi's (of Pink Penguin) paper piecings and was so excited when she started a quilt along.!!  The first one is the cutie popsicles... a perfect summer project.

Each popsicle was sew fun to stitch up!  Aymui's patterns were really easy to follow and put together, which made it that much more enjoyable!

 a strawberry banana popsicle!

a chocolate covered cherry popsicle!  oh, wouldn't that be sooo yummy!

I couldn't resist.  I just had to make a pink penguin popsicyle, Ayumi!  ;)

Instead of a watermelon popsicle, I did a strawberry popsicle.

Don't they look yummy!?!  It makes me want to go buy lots of popsicles.  :)

I can't wait to see what Ayumi does for next month!  I'm sure it will be just as sweet!

I hope everyone has a lovely week-end!

i ♥...

vintage hexies!!

I made these sweet mini 3/4 inch hexies from the vintage feedsack squares I had found at one of the antique shops in Iowa.  I love how they all look together!

Now to decide what to make with them.  What do you think...a pillow, mini wallhanging, or maybe stitch them together and put them on a canvas board to hang?

Pillows, oh yes, cheek pinchingly cute pillows!

These adorable pillows I received from the last two Pillow Talk Swaps!  Aren't they so cute, and they look like they were made to go together!!

Little Red Riding Hood's Victorian house.  Kylie created this adorable paper piecing and turned it into the sweetest pillow.  I love the sweet fussy cuts and the lovely floral and polka dot linen!!  It is a work of art!

Amanda and I had done a little side swap for my other X and + pillow from the last round of the Pillow Talk Swap.  This is the sweet pillow she sent me.  I just adore the LRRH embroidery and the cute patchwork border!  So cute!

strawberry picking with my family!

This last week-end we went strawberry picking!  It was the last week-end the strawberry u-pick was open so it was a must!

Though, I think the kiddos ate more strawberries than they picked!  :)

We ended up picking 2 large bowls of over 20 lbs of strawberries.  Most of them have already been made into freezer jam.  YUM!  :)

i ♥...

 the beach!

After strawberry picking we headed to the beach in Sequim and had lots of fun!  It was such a pretty day and was perfect for the beach!

We did a little hike down to the beach to the Dungeness Spit.  The Dungeness Spit is a large sand bar that goes 5 miles and at the end is a light house.  We got there too late in the day to hike it so would love to go back soon.

It was quite a fun filled week-end and couldn't have been better...hand stitching, strawberries and the beach!!    I've also been working more on my diamond star hexagons too, so hopefully this week I can make some more progress to show you.  I'm also hoping to get back to sewing a few Farmers Wife blocks.  Have you seen Kristyne's?  Oh my...it makes me want to get mine done now!

strawberry~licious!

This past week I was busy as a bee getting ready for my daughters oh so sweet strawberry party that was on Saturday!  I hope you don't mind a bunch of pictures of the things I enjoyed making.  :)

A cute little strawberry arrangement!  I love coming up with different arrangements.  :)

I up-cycled a frame and then hung a little happy birthday sign I created from a ribbon.  The other frame is of Tasha's sweet Little Miss Strawberry.

A strawberry~licious bunting!  I added some Riley Blake elastic crochet lace to the edges.  I love how it gives it a vintage delicate feel.  The best part was the elastic lace was really easy to work with.

oh so pretty!

Adorable little fabric strawberries.  Tasha had made some like these ones awhile back and thought they looked so simple and sweet.  I thought they'd make the perfect little strawberry project for the girls to sew up.   It was the first time most of them had done any sewing so it was fun to introduce them to it with a fun and simple project.   A couple of the girls made 7 of them since they were having so much fun sewing.  :)  I used this pattern and this cute strawberry ribbon.

A couple large strawberry pillows I stitched up for the party to use as decoration, and of course would be great for a couple summer pillows.  :)   I followed a lovely tutorial by The Purl Bee.  The kiddos love how soft and puffy they are!!  They are quite the novelty and have already been carried around the house lots already!

They even look cute on my garden chair.  :)  I used Lecien's polka dot fabric an Old New 30's floral and some Moda Bella Solids in Robins Egg.

A quick little snapshot of some of the goodies.  Strawberry cake pops, cheesecake stuffed strawberries, and pretty cupcakes.

My hubby had the girls all help make homemade strawberry ice cream.   It was really yummy too!  :)

Some little goodie bags

and cute strawberry boxes we made from this pattern.

As you can see was had a strawberry~licous time!  ;)

Hugs,
